Diane Warricks

d. October 4, 2014

Mrs. Diane Michelle Owens Warricks, 49, of Statesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at her home, surrounded by family and close friends. Mrs. Warricks was born in Iredell County on September 12, 1965, and was the daughter of Mary Owings Owens and the late Ira Gaither Owens. She was a graduate of North Iredell High School class of '84. On May 6, 2000, she married Rodney Eugene Warricks, who survives. Mrs. Warricks was a member of Countryside Baptist Church where she served in many roles. She was a self-employed hair dresser with Shear Designs. Diane was strong in her faith and loved her Lord, and had a special love for her church and church family. Now we get to live knowing that when our journey is finished, she will be waiting to welcome us with open arms where we will never be separated again. A previous message from Diane reads: "Mark 11:22: "And Jesus answering saith unto them, have faith in God." Since March 2014, since the cancer returned, I have had a brain tumor and brain surgery. It's now in my liver and lungs and there is a tumor in my back. The doctors say it is metastasized melanoma. I have many side effects from the treatment, but with God, I will make it through. I've received so many cards, prayers, donations and support through all of this it is unbelievable! To my family, I love you with all my heart. I cannot thank you enough for being there for me. My beautiful church, Countryside Baptist. They have held fundraisers and have been there for me and supported me with all of their hearts. My church, my family, I love you! For all the girls at Shear Designs, you're also my family. I thank all who have supported me through all this with beautiful cards, prayers and donations. Thank you to the barber shop, the pharmacy, clients, and all of my friends and supports, I love you!" In addition to her husband, Rodney, Diane is survived by her twins, Tracie and Travis Williams and her mother, Mary O. Owens, all of Statesville; two sisters, Gay Adams (Jed Chase) of Olin and Helen Owens of Yadkinville. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Dixie, mother-in-law, Pearl Warricks of Statesville, brother-in-law, Steve Warricks (Karen) of Olin along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Warricks will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Countryside Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Bobby Henderson, Rev. Randy Goodin, and Rev. Steve Warricks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.
