Mr. Dewey Lee Odom, 75, of Stony Point, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House. Born in Bladen County, N.C. on July 15, 1940, he was a son of the late Roger Odom and Emma Dell Kinlaw. Dewey worked for 53 years for Thorlo and served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed target shooting, coin collecting and woodworking. Survivors include three daughters, Lori McGourty (Pete) of Statesville, Tena Davis and Melissa Jo Waldroup both of the home. Also surviving are a sister, Kay Frances Kane of Concord, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services celebrating Dewey’s life will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. Full military rites will be presented by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail. The family will speak with friends immediately following the service.
