Mr. Dewey Waldo Lowrance, 92, of Statesville, died Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on August 20, 1923, he was a son of the late Charles Earnest Lowrance and Beulah Mae Stradley Lowrance. Mr. Lowrance was a member of First A.R.P. Church and served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army. He attended Scotts High School and worked for the Iredell County Schools and worked for Beauty Maid Mills. Later in his career he was self employed. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor S. Brock Lowrance, sons, John Dewey Lowrance (Hilda) of Statesboro, Ga. And Billy Reid Lowrance (Deidre) of Statesville, daughters, Janet Lowrance Jacobs (Glenn) and Patricia Lowrance McGrew both of Statesville and Christine Carole Lowrance of Conover, along with a step son, Dr. Jim Brock, Jr. (Mary) of Louisville, Ky. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren. Services celebrating Mr. Lowrance’s life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Phil McCoy and Rev. Robert Sherer officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service and burial will follow in the New Sterling A.R.P. Church Cemetery with full military rites presented by the North Iredell American Legion Post #113 burial detail. Condolences may be sent online to the family to
