Derrick Cline

Derrick Lyn Cline, 42, of Statesville, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Cline was born February 21, 1969 in Iredell County and was the son of Dorothy Hicks Cline and the late Ray Bowers Cline. He was a graduate of North Iredell High School and was a member of Hams Grove Baptist Church. Prior to his disability retirement, Mr. Cline was in Law Enforcement, having worked a majority of his career with the Mocksville Police Department. Mr. Cline was a kind and loving man who loved helping people. In addition to his father, Mr. Cline was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Cline along with twin brother, Darrin Cline. He was also preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. Mr. Cline is survived by his mother, Dorothy Hicks Cline and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Ham's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Shoemaker and Rev. Otis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
