Dennis Joe Church Sr.

Dennis Joe Church, Sr. 72, of Statesville died Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Amorem Hospice in Valdese.
He was born on September 28, 1950, to the late James Church and Lena Tayes Church. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lynn Church, and Larry Church.
Dennis loved to be outdoors, especially working on his ’54 Fords. He spent many hours working on and restoring them. He enjoyed going to the mountains to get apples and growing a large garden so he could share his bounty with everyone. He enjoyed laughing and cutting up with folks. More than anything, Dennis was a family man who worked hard to provide for his family and those he loved. He always put others ahead of himself.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Patricia Reddings Church, two sons, Joe Church, Jr., and Terry Church (Pam Brewer), a daughter, Ronda Dellinger (Chris), three grandsons, Christopher Dellinger (Christen), Zack Church, Weston Church, and three brothers, Gene Church (Violet), Wayne Church (Dell), and Ronnie Church.
A Gathering of Friends will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Nicholson Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm for folks to drop by and speak with the family.
