Debra Swicegood Arthurs, 60, of Statesville, claimed her mansion in heaven on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Her family was comforted in knowing she had put her trust in the Lord. She was born in Iredell County on November 6, 1958 and was a daughter of the late Kenneth Roy Swicegood and Carolyn Christine Galliher Swicegood. She graduated from North Iredell High School and was a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church in Holden Beach. She was disabled and formerly worked at Hunt Manufacturing Company. She enjoyed shopping at Goodwill, dogs and going to the beach.
Survivors include a daughter, Christy N. Arthurs, a son, Nathan S. Arthurs and his wife, Amanda, along with three grandchildren: Kayli Isaac, Mariah Isaac and Brandon Arthurs. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Jane Crumpton and two brothers, Roy Swicegood and Carl Bailey. She is also survived by her stepmother, Sara Swicegood
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Countryside Baptist Church at 1233 River Hill Rd., Statesville, with Rev. William Whitlock officiating. Private committal services will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
