Deborah Taylor Stevenson, 57, of Statesville, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Laurel, Maryland on March 9, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Claude Taylor and Ima Moore Taylor who survives. She attended Eastern Star Holiness Church in Raleigh with her daughter. She enjoyed church and travel. Deborah was a retired CNA from Brookdale Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Harris. Survivors in addition to her mother include a son, Brian Stevenson and his wife, Selina Davis-Stevenson of Catawba, a daughter, Karen Taylor of Raleigh and grandchildren: Troy Joyner, II., Bryson Stevenson, Cameron McDaniel and Briana Stevenson. Also surviving are brothers: Claude and Raymond Taylor of Maryland and Kelly Taylor of New Mexico and sisters: Leatha Taylor and Lillian Crooms both of Philadelphia, Pa., Barbara Brooks and Rachel Knox both of Statesville and Ima Johnson of Atlanta. Services celebrating Deborah’s life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Brian Caines and Elder Kirk Crowder officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 at the funeral home prior to the service and burial will follow in Belmont Cemetery. Condolences may be sent online to the family to
