David Wayne Stewart

David Wayne Stewart, 57, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 28, 2017.  He was born on September 12, 1959 in Iredell County to the late John David and Martha Shoemaker Stewart. Wayne was a graduate of Statesville Sr. High and was of Baptist faith.  He was retired from Lowes Home Improvement where he worked as a delivery man.  Wayne retired early to take care of his parents and he was a giving person.  He was always available to help a friend or anyone in need.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Christine Speece (William); two nephews, Eric Speece (Samantha) and Shannon Speece; a great niece, Harper Speece; and a great nephew E.J. Speece. A Graveside service for Wayne will be held 11:00 am Monday, July 3, 2017 at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Allen White and Charles Fitzgerald officiating.  Active pallbearers will be Eric and Shannon Speece, Scott Stewart, Brandon Lefever, Kyle Haynes, and Dean Haynes.  The family will visit with friends Sunday evening, July 2, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
