David Carl Byrd, affectionately known as "Pete," passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, at the age of 77, in Forsyth County, North Carolina. Born on December 20, 1946, in Guilford County, North Carolina, David lived a life filled with dedication to his craft, love for his family, and a passion for adventure.
A skilled motorcycle mechanic and draftsman by trade, David had a knack for precision and a love for working with his hands. His talents extended beyond the workplace, as he spent countless hours woodworking and working on motorcycles-a testament to his lifelong love for these pursuits.
David's heart was always set on adventure, and he found joy in traveling to Tombstone, Arizona, where the spirit of the Old West captivated him. When not exploring, he could often be found on the golf course or cherishing precious moments with his great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
David is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carl Ambros Byrd and Minnie Gertrude Nance, as well as his brother Kent Byrd. He leaves behind a loving family and cherished friends, including his son Randy Byrd; granddaughter Jessica Brubaker and her husband Zachariah; great-grandchildren Caroline Minnie and Callie Mae; brother Rick Byrd; sisters Judy Cranford, Connie Beck, and Cathy Beck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with David's wishes, no services will be held at this time. The family requests that you remember David by celebrating his life in your own special way, perhaps by enjoying a round of golf, taking a ride on a beloved motorcycle, or simply spending time with loved ones.
David will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
