Darrell Wayne Robinette, 55, of Statesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Darrell was born in Iredell County on March 31, 1964 and was the son of Mack Robinette and Louise Murdock Moore. He attended Iredell County Schools.
Darrell was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was owner/operator of Kleen Kutt Lawncare.
Darrell was a man who loved the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, riding his four-wheeler around the pond. He also loved to play softball and was sponsor of the Kleen Kutt softball team. Darrell was also a lover of music and especially the music of KISS. He had a special love for his fiancée Diane Gentry Johnston and his two grandbabies Ashton Robinette of the home and Zoey Robinette of King, NC. He will be missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.
Darrell was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Robinette.
In addition to his dad Mack Robinette (Joyce) of Lexington and mother Louise Moore of Statesville, he is survived by two sons, Ashley Robinette (Rebecca Gauthier) of Statesville and Tory Robinette of King, NC and one sister, Melissa Robinette Anzini (Josh) of Statesville. Two nephews, two special girls, Ashley and Maggie Johnston and a host of cousins also survive.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Darrell Robinette will be held on 1:00 PM Saturday, October 26 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Talmadge Hollar officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends this evening (Friday) from 5:30 until 7:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.
