Daniel Redmond

Daniel Gray Redmond, 71, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at his home. Mr. Redmond was born March 12, 1939 and was the son of the late Sherriff Fredrick Redmond and Bertha Daniels Redmond. He was a graduate of Central High School and on April 16, 1960, he was married to Brenda Fox Redmond, who survives. Mr. Redmond was self employed as a dairy farmer and he was a member of Redemption Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Brenda Fox Redmond of the home, Mr. Redmond is also survived by two sons, Steven G. Redmond and wife Toni and Jeff D. Redmond and wife Janet, both of Statesville. He is further survived by one grandson, Chase Redmond along with four granddaughters, Kayla, Stefanie, Jessica, and Brianna Redmond, all of Statesville. Mr. Redmond is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Carrigan and Rev. Joe Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends following the service at the church.
