Clyde Richard Mayberry, 83, of Stony Point, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013. He was born April 7, 1929 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Quincy Mayberry and Flossie Nantz Mayberry. Mr. Mayberry attended Cool Springs Schools and was married to Nancy Thomas Mayberry, who died April 6, 2007. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and retired from ACME Metal as a plant manager. Mr. Mayberry served in the US Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie Harkey and Helen Hall. Mr. Mayberry is survived by his companion, Betty Williams and seven children, April Mayberry (Mark Dul), Danny Mayberry, Patricia Mayberry Fyfe (Gary), Richard Mayberry (Pamela), Ray Mayberry (Janie), Terry Mayberry (Katheleen) and Clarence Jones. He is also survived by two sisters, Cladie Pennell and Beulah Call along with 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Shoemaker and Rev. James Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
