Mr. Clyde Edwin Hedrick, 82, of Statesville, passed away, Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the V.A. Hospital in Salisbury, NC. Mr. Hedrick was born October 4, 1931 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Jesse and Lizzie Campbell Hedrick. He was a graduate of Iredell County Schools and on June 29, 1953, he was married to Dollie Stewart Hedrick, who survives of the home. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was of the Protestant Faith. He was retired from Southern Screw Company, loved hunting, fishing and most of all, his family. In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by one daughter, Martha Hedrick of Statesville, granddaughter, Pamela Johnson of Wilkesboro, great granddaughter, Deanna Hedrick of Statesville, one brother, Huey Hedrick and one sister, Kay Frances Bustle, both of Statesville. Mr. Hedrick was preceded in death by one son, Ray Todd Hedrick, one daughter, Marilyn Hedrick and three brothers, Monroe, Johnny and Tony Hedrick. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at New Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Max Hayes and Pamela Johnson officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Bryan Johnson, Shon Stroud, Jerry Huffman, Woodrow Hooks, Jr., Kenny Pierce, Woodrow Hooks, III, Jamie Montaigne, David Montaigne, Lloyd Comer, John Isaac, III and David Reed. Memorials may be made to Pruitt Health Hospice, 902 W.D. St., North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Clyde Hedrick.
