Clara Vea Holland Johnson, 88, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Iredell County on April 13, 1927 to the late Robert Vance Holland and Valle Mae Dickins Holland. Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Union Grove High School, attended Mitchell College and Mars Hill College. She obtained a Business Administration Degree from High Point College. She was married in 1947 to Kenneth Lee Johnson who passed away in 1994. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Front Street Baptist Church but had been attending St. Johns Lutheran Church with her son Mike. Mrs. Johnson was a Homemaker and a beautiful seamstress. She took care of many family members over the years and was active in her church until her husband, Ken, died. She was wonderful Christian mother who will be missed dearly. Along with her parents and husband, Ken, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margeulien Templeton. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Michael Holland Johnson (Anita) of Statesville and James Lee Johnson (Jayne) of Gray Court, SC; seven grandchildren, David Johnson (Kristin) of Mooresville, Kimberly Alkire of Statesville, Jessica Hustead of Richmond, VA, Jeffrey Hustead (Joanie) of Charleston, SC, Blake Johnson (Kaycee) of Greenville, SC, Jason Johnson (Courtney) of Simpsonville, SC, and Parker Johnson of Gray Court, SC; and two great grandchildren, Emily Alkire and Nathaniel Johnson. Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Pastor Ernie Sheldon officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday evening (tonight) at Nicholson Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:30 pm. Pallbearers will include Jason Johnson, Blake Johnson, Jeff Hustead, David Johnson, Logan Savage and Eddie Gaines. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O.
