Chris Pekarek

Christopher Patrick Pekarek, 57, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, June 05, 2013, at the Gordon Hospice House following a battle with cancer. Mr. Pekarek was born July 13, 1955 in Queens, New York and was the son of Jannetje DeHass Pekarek and the late Henry Pekarek. He was a graduate of Massapequa High School in New York. On June 13, 1981 he married Janet Reilly Pekarek, who survives. He was a member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church and he was self employed as a distributer of brake systems for cars. In addition to his mother and wife, Janet, Mr. Pekarek is also survived by one daughter, Laura Pekarek of New York, NY and one son, Brian Pekarek of the home. He is further survived by two sisters, Kathleen Cook and husband Doug and Jean Rogers and husband Fred along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate the life of Chris Pekarek on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at the home of Phillip and Mary Dulin, 231 Ridgeway Ave, Statesville, NC 28677.
