Chet Lee Boggs

Mr. Chet Lee Boggs, 56, of Statesville, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in Georgetown, S.C. on June 30, 1959, he was a son of Charles Lee Boggs who survives and the late Lois Privette Boggs. Chet was the managing partner for Colonial Trading and Colonial Properties Partnership.  He attended Lenoir Rhyne College and graduated from Haywood Technical College. He traveled worldwide with his work and enjoyed golf, woodworking and cooking.  He played football at Lenoir Rhyne and was a state wrestling champ.  Chet was also an Eagle Scout. Survivors include two sons, Matthew Boggs of Los Angeles, Calif. And Samuel Boggs of Statesville, one daughter, Alison Boggs also of Statesville. Also surviving are two brothers, David Boggs of Cincinnati, Ohio and Joseph Boggs of Statesville. Services celebrating Chet’s life will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 3, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Borders officiating. The family will receive friends in Adams Hall of the church following the service.
