Charlie Lee Williams, 66, of Union Grove, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Charlie was born in Iredell County on July 20, 1952 and was the son of the late Thomas Clyde “Tommy” Williams and Hilda Jean Harmon Williams. He was a graduate of North Iredell High School and he attended N.C. State.
Charlie was a faithful life-long member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church and he served his country in the National Guard. On October 11, 2008 he married Suzanne Younger Williams who survives.
Charlie was a life-long dairy farmer and he along with his father owned and operated T.C. Williams Farm, INC. He was a member of the American Legion Post 113 and a 30-year member of NFIB Small Business.
Charlie was a man of integrity. He was humble, kind and an honest hard-working man. His love for his neighbor along with the community of northern Iredell County was an important part of his life. He was always willing to lend a hand to any and all who may have needed him. Being a self-employed dairy farmer, Charlie had to learn to be a mechanic, a veterinarian, a counselor, and anything else that would be needed in his community or on his farm. He especially loved his dad and faithfully tended to his needs during the latter years of his life. Charlie’s kindness and friendship will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Charlie shared the past 10 years of his life with his wife Suzanne. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Benny Williams (Lilly) and Eddie Williams (Diane) and one sister, Jean Redmond (Tony), all of Union Grove.
