Charles Chrysel Morrison, 66, of Statesville passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Alleghany County on January 1, 1947 to the late Thomas Richard and Edith Fender Morrison. Charlie was a graduate of Piney Creek High School in Piney Creek, NC. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy Seabees NMCB40 during the Vietnam War. He worked for International Truck Center in Statesville for over 40 years where he was the service manager. Mr. Morrison was married on December 31, 1997 to Connie Anderson Morrison, who survives and he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hickory. Along with his parents, Mr. Morrison was also preceded in death by a half brother, Keith Richardson. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Chuck Morrison (Felicia) of State Road, NC, one stepson, Chad Anderson (Christiane) of New York, NY, two stepdaughters, Holley Dagenhardt (James) and Tara Killian (Justin), both of Hickory. He is also survived by one sister, Judith Morrison Carr of Charlotte, a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Richardson of Virginia Beach, VA along with seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Morrison will be conducted at 5:00 pm Sunday, September 22, 2013 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Langston and Pastor Thomas Young officiating. The family will visit with friends from 3:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. A graveside funeral service will be conducted 12:00 noon on Monday, September 23, 2013 in the V.A. National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
