Charles Wesley Worley, Sr.

September 13, 1923 — December 3, 2018

Charles Wesley Worley, Sr., 95, of Statesville, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at Maple Leaf Healthcare Center.  He was born in Asheville, NC on September 13, 1923 to the late Carl Bronson Worley and Rena West Worley.

Mr. Worley was a graduate of Lee Edwards High School in Asheville and served his country honorably in WWII in the U.S. Army.  On June 6, 1953, he married Jane Mills Worley, who preceded him in death.  He was a salesman with Auto Equipment Company and then later retired from the ABC Store where he was the manager.  Charlie was a Shriner and member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge No. 690 where he was the Past Master and received the DeMolay Legion of Honor.  He had been a member of the Duck Creek Gun Club. Charlie was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church who was a loving husband and father who always put family first.

Along with his wife, Jane, he was preceded in death by a son William C. Worley and two brothers Harold and Ralph Worley.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Mary Jane Siler of Greensboro and a sonon, C. Wesley Worley Jr. of Statesville.

A Gathering of Friends will be held 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Nicholson Funeral Home.  A private family burial in Oakwood Cemetery will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com and Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
