Charles Newton Straughn

Charles "Charlie" Newton Straughn - 80, of Rural Hall, North Carolina, passed December 24, 2021 in Winston-Salem. He was born April 26, 1941, in Guilford County, North Carolina, to the late Lawerance Straughn and Oney Caviness Straughn. Charlie was a US Army Veteran. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. In addition to his parents, Lawerance and Oney, Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin, granddaughter, Rikki Vaughan, and brothers, Jessy of Richard, VA, Toby of Stoneville, NC, Curtis and Clay of Greensboro, NC, Richard of Yadkinville, NC, and sisters, Patsy of High Point, NC, Mary and Doris of Greensboro, NC. Surviving family members include his wife Brenda L. (Overby) Straughn; son Chucky Straughn of Greensboro; stepdaughter Patricia Moore (Eddie) of Rural Hall, NC; granddaughter Misty Wamsley of Rural Hall ,NC; and great-granddaughter Madison Vaughan of Kernersville, NC; step-children: Melinda Martin (Eugene), Clifford Overby (Henrietta), and Robert Milliken (Joyce), all of Trinity, NC, and Billy Milliken of Biscoe, NC; brothers, Bobby and Sugar Straughn, both of Greensboro, NC; sister June Lobidell of Greensboro, NC; and his dogs Fee Fee and TeeTee.
