Charles Henry Sipple, III, 82, died at his home on Saturday, February 28, 2015. He was born on August 11, 1932 to the late Charles H. and Helen S. Bryant-Sipple in Statesville, North Carolina. He enlisted and honorably served his Country in the U.S. Marines, Army and Air Force. During his military career, he was stationed in Korea during the U.S. Korean Conflict, was a Golden Glove Boxer and trained in dental technology. He became a specialist in dental metallurgy. Upon his military discharge he became a specialist in precious metals used in restorative dental practice and research. Associated with academic dental education he published his technological innovations, techniques and processes while serving as an adjunct dental faculty member. Later Charles represented numerous U.S. companies in dental metal sales and processes. He held scientific appointment in the Far East providing dental services via government appointment. After many years he returned to Statesville where he retired from professional life. He was a long time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Statesville. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen Jeanene Hughes and nephew Dennis Hughes. Survived by his son, H. Karl & Deanna Sipple of Summerville, South Carolina,a daughter, Elspeth Marie Sipple, and grandsons, Lawson and Anders of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
