Charles Thomas "Ike" Hager, age 64 of Statesville, NC, peacefully succumbed to Multiple Sclerosis at CMC-University Hospital on March 21, 2014 surrounded by his family. Ike is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Becky Hager of Statesville, NC: his daughter Amanda H. Hawkins (Joel) of Fort Mill, SC., and two grandchildren, Jake and Brody Hawkins. He is also survived by his sister Jan H. van Bergen (Joe) of Charlotte, NC., and two nieces Heather Blaine and Macey Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents William T. "Tommy" and Dorothy Sharpe Hager. Ike attended Statesville City schools and graduated from Carolina Military Academy, Wingate University, and UNC-Charlotte. Prior to his disability he served as Vice-President of Watts Heating and Cooling. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 25, at 11:00 o'clock in the morning at New Salem United Methodist Church located at 155 New Salem Road, Statesville, NC., 28625. The family wishes to thank the medical staff at CMC-University for the wonderful care and support they offered during this difficult time.
