Mrs. Carolyn Ruth Teasley Moore, 87, of Statesville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2019 surrounded by family.
Ruth was born in Randolph County, NC on July 30, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Lee and Mary Ethel Reagan Teasley. She attended Rowan County schools and on March 7, 1952 she married Rev. James J. Moore and together they shared 67 years of marriage.
Ruth was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church and she was a homemaker.
Ruth loved to read and to crochet. The most special moment in her life was the day she became a Christian. Ruth was a Proverbs 31 woman. She loved God with all her heart and served along with her husband in ministry as a church pianist for over 40 years. She dearly loved all of her church families. Her love for God was not only shown throughout the community but in her home with her children. She raised her children with a Godly approach, and it has been evident in their lives and in the lives of her grandchildren. She also loved being a Memaw. Her love for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren was also a special one. As for her homegoing, she will be missed but her lasting home will bring comfort to her family and friends because it’s not good-bye but see you in the morning.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Along with her husband, Ruth is survived by three children, Sheila M. Adams (Eddie) of Moravian Falls, Ronald D. Moore (Katie), and Mark S. Moore (Donna), both of Statesville. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Alisa M. Griffin (Alan) of Aiken, SC, Nadine M. Walters (Matthew) of N. Wilkesboro, Jason M. Marlow (Amy) of Mooresville and Kelly M. Shorts (Eric) of Statesville. She is further survived by nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services honoring the life of Ruth Moore will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Unity Baptist Church with Pastor Blain Keaton, Rev. Larry Adams and Dr. James Keever officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends this evening (Saturday) from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
