Carolyn Kathleen (Kiser) Hess

Carolyn Kathleen Kiser Hess, 55, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House.  She was born on November 10, 1962 in Dante, Virginia to the late L. C. and Marjorie Bernadine Wiles Kiser. Carolyn attended Statesville City Schools and worked most her career as a knitter in various firms in Statesville.  Her latest job was with Walmart before illness kept her from working.  She was a member of Landmark Church of God where she worked in the church food ministry.  Carolyn was a devoted mother and grandmother who was the “guiding light” for her children.  She always put others before herself and will be missed by all who knew her.  Carolyn took care of her grandparents and was caregiver to many.  She loved to travel, the outdoors, and reading her bible. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Wimbley and a brother, George Kiser. Left to cherish her memory are four sons, Bradley Kiser (Kelli), Shawn Hess (Brandy), Justin Hess, and Gregory Hess (Amber); a daughter, Crystal Hess Brooks (Michael); nine grandsons; one granddaughter; four sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Pearson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends Friday evening (January 19, 2018) from 6 until 8 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
