Mrs. Carla Ann Haynes McDaniels, 49, of Union Grove, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Iredell Memorial Hospital, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. Mrs. McDaniels was born in Iredell County on October 20, 1964 and was the daughter of Larry Randell Haynes and the late Linda Ruth Rachels. She attended Iredell County Schools and on November 28, 1980, she married Timmie Rick McDaniels, who survives. Mrs. McDaniels was employed with Lowes Hardware as a sales associate. She was a strong woman who traded her cancer in for angel wings. She loved her grandchildren, working in flower gardens, and she was a lover of animals, especially her dogs. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and grandmother. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by twin granddaughters, Mackenzie and Bailey McDaniels, paternal grandparents, Lillie and Harding Haynes and maternal grandparents, Lula and Carl Rachels. Along with her father, Larry Haynes (Pat), she is survived by her husband of 33 � years, Timmie Rick McDaniels, two sons, Tommy McDaniels (Carmen) and Jimmie McDaniels (Amber); sisters, Julie Troutman, Tonya Spangle, Sandy Ingram, and Teresa Giddings (John), and father and mother in law, Tommy and Nettie McDaniels. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lilly, Tanner, Elina, Leeland, Emma, and Maddilyn McDaniels, a brother in law, Paul McDaniels and her nieces and nephews, Kayla Troutman, Luke Marcum, Andrew Troutman, Thomas Spangle, Chloe McDaniels, Darrell McDaniels, and Drew McDaniels. Funeral services for Carla McDaniels will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday, April 21, 2014, at Taylor Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Ray Williams and Jerry Cass officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eric Mooe, Ronnie Dishmond, Corey Williams, Luke Marcum, Paul McDaniels, and Scott Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Troutman and Jerry Cass. The family will visit with friends Sunday evening from 5:30 until 8:30 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
