� Mr. Carl Lee Rabon, 61, of Union Grove, NC passed away Friday, September 20, 2013, at the W.G. Hefner Veterans Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. Mr. Rabon was born August 22, 1952 in Catawba County and he was the son of Ruby Barger Rabon and the late Burgess William Rabon. He was a graduate of Iredell County Schools and on June 24, 1990, he married Phyllis Norket Rabon, who survives. Mr. Rabon was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was self employed in the sand business. Along with his father, Mr. Rabon was also preceded in death by a step-son, Michael Fore. In addition to his mother, Ruby Barger Rabon and his wife, Phyllis Norket Rabon, he is survived by four brothers, Charles Rabon (Carol) of Salisbury, Michael Rabon (Linda) of Saw Mills, NC, Joe Rabon (Vickie) and Walter Rabon (Donna), both of Statesville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He will also be missed by his two dear companions, Mr. Bill & Omar, his two dachshunds A graveside funeral services with full military honors will be conducted at 12:00 pm Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in the V.A. National Cemetery in Salisbury. The funeral procession will be lead by the Patriot Guard from Nicholson Funeral Home to the V.A. National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will visit with friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the W.G. Hefner Veterans Medical Center, 1601 Brenner Ave, Building 43, Salisbury, NC 28144 and make attention to Hospice.
