Francis "Buster" McNeel Jarvis, 79, of Statesville, passed away, Thursday, February 6, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Iredell County on May 6, 1934 to the late Luther Gilbert and Bessie Branch Jarvis. Mr. Jarvis was educated in the Iredell County Schools and married Margaret Rogers on December 28, 1952. They enjoyed almost 55 years of marriage before her passing on September 3, 2007. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Buster retired from Wickes Lumber where he was a truck driver and yard manager after a 35 year career. He later worked at Lowes for 7 years. He was a member of Christ Boulevard Methodist Church where he was active in the Methodist Men's Club, Kitchen Committee, Jolly Seniors and served as an usher. Mr. Jarvis was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Steven and Bobby Gilbert Jarvis. Mr. Jarvis is survived by a daughter, Patricia J. Parker (Connie Mack) of Statesville; a grandson, Chris Mayberry (Leslie); great granddaughter Aubrey Jordan Mayberry; a great grandson, Owen Christopher Mayberry, all of Greenville, NC. He is further survived by two step-grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews Funeral services for Buster Jarvis will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Christ Boulevard Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Doub officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00PM.
