Buddy Gene Goforth

Mr. Buddy Gene Goforth., 83, of Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Heritage Place in Statesville.
Mr. Goforth was born in Rutherford County on December 26, 1935 and was the son of the late Charlie Johnson Goforth and Georgia Reed Street Goforth.
On March 22, 1958 he married Judy Law in Reseda, California and together they shared 61 years of marriage. and was a veteran of the Air Force in 1954.
He worked as a safety engineer for IBM and was part of the Saturn Rocket program. Mr. Goforth served on many boards in his lifetime; The American Legion, a President of the Builders Association in Mooresville, and part of the Society of Safety Engineers.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Law Goforth; three sons; David (Cindy) Goforth of Matthews, NC, Daniel (Rebecca) Goforth of Hayden, AL and Doug (Lisa) Goforth of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Marianne (David) Link of Durham, NC; two sisters, Nancy Carol (Joe) Pilgrim of Mooresville, NC and Kay Ellen Goforth of Gastonia, NC; eighteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter and three step great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 29, 2019 at Salisbury National Cemetery, Annex 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC 28144.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Iredell County Hospice and Palliative Care, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, North Carolina 28625.
