Brenda Jackson

Brenda Coley Jackson, 71, of Harmony, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her residence.
She was born in Statesville on March 13, 1948 to the late James William Coley and Brownie Boovey Coley Freeland. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers; Thomas A. Coley and Bill E. Coley, her little sister; Martha Sue Freeland, and several sisters-in-law. I’m sure they are all walking with Jesus, enjoying each other’s company and playing a card game or two.
Brenda graduated from Statesville Senior High School, attended Landmark Church of God and was retired with 34 years of service from the Iredell Statesville Schools as a School Nutrition Manager. After her retirement, she went back to work part-time for 7 more years.
She enjoyed the ocean sounds and atmosphere. She loved to play cards and was great at Jeopardy. Brenda enjoyed reading and doing her seek-a-word puzzles. Most of all, she loved to tell people and talk about her granddaughter, Hannah and great-grandchildren; Levi, Everlie and Emmarie.
Survivors include a daughter; Traci Sanders and husband, Bob of Harmony, a granddaughter; Hannah Wilhelm and fiancée Corey Stewart of Statesville, a great-grandson; Levi Garrett Stewart, 2 great-granddaughters; Everlie Olivia Nicole Stewart, and Emmarie Airele Nicole Stewart, and 3 brothers; James A. Coley (Brenda), Jerry A. Coley (Linda) and John W. Coley. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Brenda will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Landmark Church of God with the Rev. Phil Pearson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:30 to 3:00 prior to the service.
