Brenda Gail (Goodwin) Pierce

Brenda Gail Goodwin Pierce, 77, of Statesville passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at her residence. She was born on April 14, 1941 in Iredell County to the late Marshall W. Goodwin, Sr. and Ethel Hunter Goodwin.
Brenda was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and Mitchell Community College. She married Thomas H. Pierce on June 4, 1960 and they shared over 35 years of marriage before his passing in 1996. Brenda worked for Beauty Maid for over 30 years and retired from Sara Lee. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall “Jack” Goodwin, Jr. and his wife, Nancy.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Timothy T. Pierce (Wendy) of Statesville; sister Sue Ellen Davis (Kramer); six nieces, Kathy Troutman, Melinda Roberts, Jennifer Goodwin, Tammy Goodwin, Susan Head, and Lori Sweeney; and six nephews, Roger Daniels, Kenny Davis, Jonathan Davis, Stephen Goodwin, Charles Goodwin, and Michael Padget.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 am.
