Brenda Pope Cook, 72, of Statesville, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at her home. Born in Forsyth County on July 29, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Troy Lee Pope and Eleanor Lucille Hoover Pope. On October 5, 1963, she married Mr. Billy Joe Cook who survives. Mrs. Cook graduated from Scotts High School and was a member and Sunday school teacher at Concord Presbyterian Church. She first worked for Dr. Roy Rowe, then Dr. J. B. Henninger, followed by Dr. David Pressly and then in the offices of Piedmont Healthcare. She retired from Davis Regional Medical Center medical records department. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Queen (Nelson), of Statesville, grandchildren: Troy Josey (Stephanie) and Sarah Jones, and great grandchildren: Breanna, Elea and Lexi. Also surviving is a sister, Glenda P. Waugh of Winston-Salem along with several nieces and nephews. Services celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Concord Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kyle Goodman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com .
