Bradley Kyle Sherrill

Mr. Bradley Kyle Sherrill, age 40, of Statesville went to meet our Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Gordon Hospice House.  Brad was born in Statesville, NC on October 5, 1974 and was the son of Dr. Coite and Mary Ann Sherrill. Brad was a graduate of South Iredell High School and received his BS in Agricultural Education from NC State University.  He also received his master's degree in Agricultural Education from NC State and an Education Administration degree from Appalachian State University.  On March 7, 1998, Brad married Elisha Navey, the love of his life. Brad was employed with Alexander County Schools as a teacher of Career and Technical Education. After nine years of service there, he moved to Iredell-Statesville Schools and served as the Principal of the Career and Technical High School. Later, he became the Director of Career and Technical Education for the district. Brad was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church in Statesville where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon. Brad had a deep passion for people.  His life was defined by love for his family and helping others.  His caring attitude and compassionate heart gave encouragement to many.  The ultimate "Wolfpack Fan," Brad was supported by his family and countless others by what became known as the "Bradpack."  Repeatedly, his "never give up" encouragement has been inspirational to those struggling with illness.  Brad loved to sing and sang with his brothers in the gospel quartet, "Second Generation" for many years.  This involvement provide him a platform to share his faith and to minister to others. Brad came from a large family and he had deep, enduring love for his wife, Elisha, and his daughters, Mallory, Ansleigh, and Alexandria Rae.  In addition to his parents, he is also survived by three brothers and their wives, Philip and Jodi Sherrill, Kevin and Tonya Sherrill, and Doug and Wendy Sherrill. Numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces were an important part of Brad's life. Services celebrating Brad's life will be conducted on Thursday, February 26 at Western Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm with the celebration service beginning at 7pm.   All activities will be held in the sanctuary.  Dr. Skip Cartin, Rev. Henry Cook and Rev. Brian Burgess will officiate the service.  Private interment will be Friday morning in Oakwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brad Warren, Andrew Collins, David Sherrill, Darrell Watt, Dwayne Bell, Todd Brown, Brian Burgess, Chuck Bowman, Acie Ellerbe, and Sanford Sain.
