Billy Ray Lytton, Sr, 73, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at his home. Mr. Lytton was born February 16, 1943, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Roy Lytton and Alice Privette Lytton. He was educated in Iredell County schools and on September 8, 1960, he married Rosie Summers Lytton, who preceded him in death on March 24, 2009. Mr. Lytton was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. He was a disability retired self-employed truck driver. Bill loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Bill would spend his free time tinkering with cars and watching the Western channel along with his dogs, Tonto, Lele, Buddy, J.R., and his cat Radar. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Lytton, Jr. and a brother, Don Lytton. Bill is survived by two daughters, Contonia L. Snider (Eddie) and Delisa L. Hicks (Jerry) along with two grandsons, Billy and Cody Snider, all of Statesville. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Rosie-Marie Snider of Mocksville and great-grandchildren, Lane and Emma Snider. He is further survived by two brothers, Johnny Lytton (Ann) of Conover and Tommy Lytton (Doris) of Statesville along with three sisters, Martha Ann Lytton, Linda Lowman (Ray), and Doris Pardue (Leo), all of Statesville along with a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Lytton will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, January 9, 2017, at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
