Billy P. Hooker

Billy P. Hooker, age 93, of Trinity, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. Born on September 28, 1929, in Danville, VA he was the son of the late John Steven Hooker and Celethia Hazel Patterson Hooker.
Billy was a loving and dedicated man who cherished spending time with family. He always wanted things in a proper order, and he could fix everything. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed competing in handgun competitions. Billy loved going for walks and to go camping, but his true passion was to golf and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Celethia Hooker. Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 66 years, Judy Merritt Hooker; daughter, Cindy Hooker Edwards and husband, Keith Edwards; son, Joel Hooker and wife, Rose Hooker; grandchildren, Alex Hooker and Joshua Barnes; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris and Shirley; brothers, Howard, Bobby, Totsy, Perry and Jerry; and his loving companion dog, Jack. Billy loved to brush, play and talk to Jack. He made special Wal Mart trips to make sure Jack never ran out of "treats" and "squeaky toys."
