Pastor James W. "Bill" Redmond, 70, of Stony Point, N.C. passed away Monday, May 28, 2012 at the W.G. Hefner VAMC in Salisbury. Rev. Redmond was born January 5, 1942 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Roy and Mary Walker Redmond . Bill attended Scotts High School, Kings Business College and Tennessee Temple University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Bill was pastor in Wyoming and later Trinity Baptist Church in Statesville, where he retired in 2008. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Statesville. He is survived by his wife, Betty Hager Redmond; two sons, Wayne of Dana Point, CA along with Andy and his wife, Christy and granddaughters, Madeline and Claire of Plano, TX. He is also survived by two brothers, John R. Redmond, Jr. and Charles Redmond, both of Statesville. Funeral services for Bill Redmond will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Mitchell officiating. The family will visit with friend's Saturday afternoon from 1:30 until 3:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with full military honors.
