Barry Paul Cope of Lexington passed away peacefully at the Hinkle Hospice House on January 3, 2023. He was born August 6, 1955, to the late Paul Henry and Ennis Pruitt Cope.
Barry was larger than life to all those who knew and loved him. He loved big, and lived every day of his life wide open, and to the fullest. He was passionate about NHRA Drag Racing, photography, cooking and building model cars. The greatest joy of his life was being a Dad and a “Papa.”
Left to cherish his memory and miss him terribly are his daughter, Paula Sanders of High Point; her husband, Wil; his Granddaughter, Addison Sanders; his sister, Tracey Cope of Lexington; and his dog Gypsy, along with many cherished friends and extended family.
Barry’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Hinkle Hospice House in Davidson County, as well as his in-home nurse Lori, for the exceptional care and love they provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County.
Nicholson Funerals & Cremations, Thomasville Chapel has the honor of serving the family.
