Barbara Juanita (Benfield) Hicks

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see and I look upon His face the one who saved me by his grace. When He took Barbara by her hand and lead her through the Promised Land on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 to walk on the streets of gold, what a Glorious Day. Left to cherish her is her husband, Jackie Hicks, a daughter, Laura Blackwelder (William), two sons, Dale Hicks (Lisa), Clint Hicks (Susan), granddaughter, Erica Lambert; sisters, Annette Dishman, Jewel Earp, Brenda St. John; sisters-in-law, Edith Miles, Rachel Doan, Dorothy Cline; brother-in-law, Richard Hicks (Debbie) and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert and Billy Benfield. Barbara loved being involved with Church activities and enjoyed hosting fall parties by the old barn with a warm bonfire, food and fun. As she grew sicker we had stopped having them and she really missed that. She enjoyed going on road trips to the mountains and the Little Glade Pond up off the Parkway, it was so relaxing to her, so mom you can go rest high on the Mountains. We love you. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Hams Grove Baptist Church with Rev. James Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the church.
