Barbara Ann (Allen) Jordan

Mrs. Barbara Ann Allen Jordan, 82, of Statesville, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017.  Mrs. Jordan was born in Iredell County on June 8, 1935, and was the daughter of the late James Allen and Effie Combs Allen.  She was valedictorian of the 1954 graduating class at Harmony High School.  Mrs. Jordan was married to William Howard Jordan who preceded her in death on October 10, 1985. Mrs. Jordan was a member of Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church and prior to her retirement, was employed with Food Lion. Mrs. Jordan loved to quilt and bake.  She was a big fan of the TV series “Mama’s Family” and she had a big sweet tooth, especially for chocolate although she would adamantly deny her chocolate addiction.   She was exceptionally fond of her fur grandbabies, Jake, Naudia, Toodle, and Pumpkin. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Jordan, a daughter, Rhonda Jordan, a grandson, Keith Keiger, Jr, two brothers, Claude and Frank Allen and a sister, Carolyn Summers. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kathy Jordan, two granddaughters, Angela Keiger and Amanda Thomas (Rocky) and a grandson, Shannon Keiger, all of Statesville.  She is also survived by one sister, Jane Moose along with 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services for Barbara Jordan will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, January 1, 2018, at Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church with Pastor David Walters officiating.  The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
