Audrey Morrison

Mrs. Audrey Rumple Morrison, 87, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Autumn Care in Statesville. Mrs. Morrison was born July 11, 1924 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Jay Parks Rumple and Maggie Austin Rumple. She attended Iredell County Schools and on February 14, 1942, she married Harold Ewing Morrison, who preceded her in death on August 11, 1998. Mrs. Morrison was a member of Pressley Memorial ARP Church where she was a member of the choir and also a member of Women of Church. Mrs. Morrison was a retired dental assistant, having worked for Dr. John Dearman and she was a Sunshine Volunteer at Davis Regional Medical Center. Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Morrison was also preceded in death by six brothers, Jack, Glenn, Frank, Jay Jr., Hoyt and Coyt Rumple. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Margarite Lamb, Johnsie Elliott, and Rachel Moore. Mrs. Morrison is survived two daughters, Denise Morison (Kenny) and Barbara Smith, both of Statesville along with two grandsons, James B. Smith of Charlotte and Andrew J. Smith of Statesville. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Pressly Memorial ARP Church with Dr. Stephen Myers officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening 6:30 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
