[caption id="attachment_7057" align="alignleft" width="113" caption="Arthur Beaver"][/caption] Mr. Arthur Jesse Beaver, 90, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Beaver was born May 3, 1923 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Arthur Jesse Beaver, Sr. and Margaret Rebecca Carter Beaver. Mr. Beaver was a graduate of Cool Spring School. He was first married to Sara Margaret White Beaver, who preceded him in death on March 20, 1995. His second marriage was to Betty Norton Beaver, who preceded him in death on March 17, 2011. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. Mr. Beaver was a member of Abilene church of Christ and he was the owner and operator of Pedodontic Service, Inc. In addition to his parents and his first and second wife, Mr. Beaver was preceded in death by two sisters, Jessie Reavis and Hazel Adkins. Mr. Beaver is survived by one daughter, Pamela B. Vollmer and husband Robin of Durham, NC. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Christina Galunas and husband Ryan along with one great-grandson, Erik Galunas. A sister, Margaret Overcash of Statesville and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Beaver will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Abilene church of Christ with Mr. Lamar Russell officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the Iredell County Veterans Burial Detail will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
