Anthony "Tony" Douglas Smith

Anthony "Tony" Douglas Smith, age 71, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. Tony was born on September 2, 1951, in Catawba County, NC, he was the son of the late Carroll Douglas Smith and Peggy Herman Smith.
Tony attended Appalachian State University. He was a very athletic individual who enjoyed walking, rock climbing and mountain climbing. He also had a passion for riding motorcycles, even visiting Sturgis. Tony worked for PPG (Pittsburgh, Paint, and Glass) as a supervisor for over 32 years.
Thos left to cherish his memory include his wife of 20 years, Patricia Roten Smith; his children, Amy Marie Golden (Pat), and Matt Smith (Katie); stepchildren, Tina Barnhart (James) and Alicia West; grandchildren, Lillian Smith and Samuel Smith; step grandchildren, Jozif West, Kurtis West, Alexis Buckner, and Benjamin Barnhart; step great grandchildren, Leanna Tripp, Austin Tripp, and Taylor Barnhart; and his siblings, Debbie Rocket, Michael Smith (Mariann), and Dwayne Smith.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Calvary Family Worship Center in Lexington.
