Annie Young

Annie Whiting Young, 86, of Statesville, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Young was born August 4, 1925 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Frank Henry Whiting and Florence Anderson Whiting. She was a graduate of Statesville High School and Mitchell College. She did clerical work her whole life starting with the Navy in Winston-Salem, NC, then to Savage Arms, Farmer Exchange and later retired from Hamilton Standard, INC. Mrs. Young is survived by one son, John Maurice Young and wife, Deborah of Woodbine, MD, two granddaughters, Heather W. Young and Jessica E. Young both of Woodbine, MD and one brother, John Whiting. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Scott Eanes officiating.
