Anne (Chapman) Roberts

Mrs. Anne Chapman Roberts, 90, of Statesville, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017, at Autumn Care. Mrs. Roberts was born in Iredell County on October 16, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Carl Herman Chapman and Esther Salmon Chapman.  She was a graduate of Iredell County schools and on February 12, 1946, she married Herbert Roberts, Sr, who preceded her in death on May 29, 2015. Mrs. Roberts was retired from Uniglass Ind. where she worked as an accounting clerk and she was a member of Calvary Community Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Chapman, Jr, Russell Chapman, and Fred Chapman, Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Herbert Roberts, Jr. (Patti) of Lancaster, SC and Barbara R. Wood (Banks) of Charlotte, along with four grandchildren, Father Benjamin Roberts of Monroe, NC, Erin Roberts (Derrick Kircher) of Fort Mill, SC, Banks Wood, Jr., of Charlotte and Anne Wood (James Riley), also of Charlotte.  She is also survived by two sisters, Doris Chapman of Statesville and Virginia Fewell of Climax, GA along with a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Anne Roberts will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, September 16, 2017, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
