Anne Belle (Griffin) Yost

Anne Griffin Yost, 84, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, February 04, 2016 at Autumn Care of Statesville.  She was born on November 22, 1931 in Belton, SC to the late John Calhoune Griffin and Vera Madden Griffin Mrs. Yost was a graduate of Belton High School and was married to Ben Ross Yost, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2001.  She worked as a CNA in private nursing care most of her career and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.  Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all that knew her. Along with her parents and husband, Ben, she was preceded in death by a son, David Yost, and eight brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Steven Ross Yost (Kathy) of Rockwell, NC; three grandsons, Joshua Yost (Melissa), Eric Yost (Dana), and Allen Yost; a granddaughter, Jessica Yost; three great grandsons, Ben Thomas Yost, Eli Jacob Yost, and Elijah Yost; and a sister, Molly Hampton. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Chris Fitzgerald officiating.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.  The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Wesley Memorial UMC, 825 Wesley Drive, Statesville, NC 28677.
