Alyce Bright

Alyce Louise Adams Bright, 81, of Statesville, passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bright was born June 7, 1929 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late John Talmage Adams and Sadie Evans Adams. She was a graduate of Statesville Senior High School, Mitchell College and Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and on October 25, 1952, she was married to the late Robert Davis Bright. She was a registered nurse for Dr. Dick and Dr. Eckley and was retired from Southern Screw as a COHN. Mrs. Bright is survived by three sons, Michael Douglas Bright (Joann) of Statesville, Jeffery Alvin Bright (Barbara) of Statesville, Gary Ronald Bright (Lynn) of Huntersville, six grandchildren, one step grandchild and three great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by two brothers, John T. Adams, Jr. and W. Jack Adams. A celebration of life service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Porter and **Dr. Jack Causey officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in Adams Hall of First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
