Celebrating the Life of Alvin McBride, Sr. aka "Bang"
Alvin Duwayne McBride Sr., loving known as "Bang" to
many and "Pop" to his children, of Rockford, IL, departed
this earthly life on November 02, 2024. He was born on
December 18, 1957 in Rockford, IL to the late Icie
McBride. He was a jack of all trades and retired in the
field of Construction. In the month of October 2024, he
rededicated his life to Christ.
He had one of the best sense of humors, very
affectionate, he was an all-around family man that
everyone that came in contact with him, loved him. He
loved fishing, bowling, riding go-carts, dancing and
singing. One of his favorite songs was Always and
Forever by Heat Wave. His favorite saying was "I'm
going to kick your ass."
Alvin Sr. leaves to cherish many loving memories to one
daughter, Kelly Hall; four sons, Sean McBride, Andre
Richardson McBride, Alvin McBride II, Shawntrell
McBride and Jermel Flannigan, 13 grandchildren; 2 great-
grandchildren, one brother; Eugene Wisdom; two sisters,
Carolyn McBride and Shirley Wimbley, the love of his life
Regina McBride; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and
other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Icie McBride,
his sons, Fabian Garlitz and Alexander "Alex" McBride,
sisters, Mary Ann Brown and Freida Wilkins.
