Alma Mahaffey Medlin

Alma Pearl Mahaffey Medlin, 78, of Statesville, died Thursday, April 4, 2109 at her residence.
Mrs. Medlin was born in Iredell County on September 1, 1940, to the late Mitchell C. Mahaffey and Viola Estelle Lail Mahaffey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ted Jefferson Medlin.
Alma was a graduate of Scotts High School, had worked at Beauty Maid Mills and was owner and operator of Statesville Skateland. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and always put her family first.
Those left to cherish her memory are a son; Todd Medlin, 3 daughters; Sharon Sigmon (Brad), Kristy Medlin, and April Kent (Corey), 3 grandchildren; Brandon Gryder, Kaylon Gryder and Abbigail Kent, 2 great-grandchildren; Caydence Gryder and Evalynne Gryder, and a special care giver, Lora J. Howse.
Funeral services for Mrs. Medlin will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Grassy Knob Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Chenevy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with family and friends Sunday evening, April 7, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
