Alice Bennett Gamble, 66, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Gamble was born in Anderson, SC on November 12, 1947 and was the daughter of the late Ernest Bennett and Estelle Jackson Bennett. She attended schools in South Carolina and she was a member of Christian Outreach of the Piedmont. Ms. Gamble was formerly employed with Cannon Mills where she worked in the weaving department. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Holmes along with five brothers, Pinkey, Kevin George, Eddie, Willie, and Kevin Ellis Bennett and two sisters, Daisy Faith Bennett and Bessie Bennett. Left to cherish her memory is her three daughters, Barbara Knox (Perry), Felicitie Gamble, and Erica Gamble Conner (Jeffery) along with one son, Charles E. Gamble, Jr, all of Statesville. She is also survived by her special friend, Ronald Davidson and sister, Pauline Bennett, both of Statesville, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services for Ms. Gamble will be conducted at 11:30 AM Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Christian Outreach of the Piedmont with Pastor Glenn Usry officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 until 11:30 AM at the church. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Online condolences can be made to the family at
