Alice Jean (Coley) Goodman

Alice Jean Coley Goodman, 84, of Troutman, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  She was born in Iredell County on February 7, 1933 to the late French B. and Elvy Burgess Coley. Mrs. Goodman attended Iredell County Schools and was married to Sam T. Goodman who preceded her in death on June 6, 1998.  They shared over 47 years of marriage before his passing.  She had worked at Troutman Shirt for over 15 years before it closed.  Mrs. Goodman was a faithful member of Troutman Baptist Church where she had served as Secretary of her Sunday school class.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed. Along with her parents and husband, Sam, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy C. Kilpatrick and a brother, Robert “Bob” Coley. Left to cherish her memory are a son Rodney Wayne Goodman and wife, Kim of Statesville; a daughter, Tina G. Lynch and husband, Chris of Troutman; five grandchildren, Shannon Goodman (Amy), Amanda Willis (Ronnie), Amber Norman (Patrick), William Lynch, and John Lynch, six great grandchildren, Justin and Abby Goodman, Adam, Jenna, and Maddie Willis, and Kate Norman; and two sisters-in-law, Gwen Coley and Katherine Goodman. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Troutman Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Chris Thompson and Rev. Joe Conley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 9:30 until 10:30 am.
