Aileen (Nesbit) Robbins

August 15, 1924 — April 14, 2016

Frances Aileen Nesbit Robbins, 91, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Brian Nursing Center.  She was born in Iredell County on August 15, 1924 to the late Lonnie M. Nesbit and Frances Bass Nesbit. Mrs. Robbins was a graduate of Troutman High School. She married on July 15, 1944 to Talmadge Alexander Robbins, who preceded her in death in September of 1979.  They enjoyed over 35 years of marriage before his passing.  Aileen was a retired office manager of FCX with 42 years of service.  She was a member of Pressley Memorial ARP Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Woman’s Missionary Union.  Mrs. Robbins was a Sunshine Lady at Davis Regional Hospital for over 25 years and loved helping people.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who will be dearly missed. Along with her parents, and husband, Talmadge, she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Frances R. Williams of Union Grove; two grandsons, Robert Wayne Williams (Andrea) of Bahama, NC along with their daughter, Callie Williams and Lee B. Williams (Sandra) of Statesville and their son and daughter Daniel and Leanna Williams; and two sisters, Betty Smith of Statesville and Beatrice Reardon of New York. Funeral services for Mrs. Robbins will be held 10:30 am Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Pressley Memorial ARP Church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Meyers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  The family will reassemble at 1:00 pm at Pressley Memorial ARP Church to visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm.  At other times, the family will be assembled at the home of her daughter, Frances. Memorials may be made to Pressley Memorial ARP Church, 1914 Wilkesboro Hwy, Statesville, NC 28625.  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com and Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
